Parkland Minor Ball Association

Update from our President, May 15:

Dear Parkland Players, Parents, Coaches and Fans,

Due to the decision by Baseball Alberta to suspend all baseball sanctioned activities and the fact that we cannot get on the diamonds as of last report until June 19th we are canceling our RECREATION BASEBALL program for the 2020 season (this includes the 9U-18U rec. program, the Rallycap program, and the Challenger program).

It was a difficult decision by our board, but after receiving the news today about the diamonds, we could not hold out any longer. We will miss seeing everyone out on the diamonds across Parkland County, Stony Plain and Spruce Grove this May and June. We hope no matter the age group, that we see you all come out and play next year for a dynamite 2021 season.

Please contact our registrar at and include the name of your player and whether you want to leave your registration fee for a credit to be used toward next season or request a full refund. We request that you do this as soon as possible so we can start processing refunds and credits. Please be patient as it could take up to 30 days to receive your refund as Sports Engine is overwhelmed and back logged at this time.

To our REP BASEBALL family: We are building a plan to get you out on the diamonds for June 19th, earlier if by chance this date gets bumped up, due to the ever changing policies. We are hoping you all will be patient for the next few weeks while we wait to see how things play out. Our hope is to start with a back-to-training program along with a practice program, then hopefully games to follow in July and August. Again this will all be dependent on the policies and conditions set forth by our local and provincial authorities. Please remember this is going to be a modified season and we will do everything we can to bring you the best possible program we can. We do not know exactly what that looks like yet, but we will be updating you regularly. Our #1 goal is to get you back on the diamonds safely. With the great weather we are having please make sure you are throwing and doing whatever baseball drills you can at this time to be ready to go at short notice.

Our rep program directors will be sending out some more information to you shortly.

Thank you,

Dean Fraser

President PMBA
